All This Soul!
One of my favorite, if not THEEE favorite soul food spot in NYC is Amy Ruth's in Harlem. I've been going here for years. Believe it or not there aren't that many soul food spots in NYC that I can honestly say that I love, but this is definitely one. Everything is seasoned and cooked to perfection. The entire menu is savory and succulent and I'm here for it ALL!
Pictured here, I went with a few of my friends - there's some fried catfish, fried chicken, smothered chicken, smothered turkey wangs, BBQ ribs, candied yams, collard greens, macaroni and cheese. And we tore it up like savages. Also good to know, Amy Ruth's stays open until 11pm on most nights and until 5:30am on Fridays and Saturdays, making it the perfect after party spot. Prices are good and ambience is super afro-centric with murals of Black Heroes from our History on the walls. Check it out!
