Buttermilk Fried Chicken + Red Velvet Waffle - Brooklyn, NY
When i first laid my eyes on this beauty on the gram, I knew I HAD to try it asap. Buttermilk fried chicken and red velvet waffles. What on mother earth? So I went.
I came, I saw, I conquered... I LOVED. Soco is a new soul food/cajun restaurant that opened in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn. You would think that Brooklyn is inundated with great soul food, but surprisingly it's nowhere as much as you would think. Especially not classy sit down restaurants like Soco.
Aside from the chicken and red velvet waffles, also MUST HAVES are the macaroni and cheese (at this time, my favorite in NYC) shrimp and grits and on Saturdays, unlimited mimosas with your brunch. For further greatness, there is outdoor seating in the backyard. Dinner under the stars anybody?
Definitely somewhere to check out for a date, group outing, brunch, birthday, all that jazz. Moderate prices too.
