Hello Fried Chicken, in the Flatiron District?! - New York, NY
On the hunt for the best fried chicken in New York City, I've heard of the same 4 spots that are "must eats." I had been to the other three, but had yet to go to this soul food delight - Hill Country Kitchen. Mind you, it was located three blocks away from my then office in the Flatiron District of Manhattan.
Hill Country Kitchen is undoubtedly a fried chicken joint, down to earth vibe, almost diner-esque (but a little classier) and #DAMB slamming grub, despite being located around a super business pit in Manhattan.
My usual order is a 2 piece dark meat fried chicken, with a biscuit, and half mash potatoes/half mac and cheese. The fried chicken is amazing, seasoned well, crunchy on the outside, juicy on the inside... EVERYTHING! Honestly, the entire menu seems legit. Trust me when I say you will not be disappointed!
