Middle Of Nowhere
In 2012, Ava DuVernay's film "Middle of Nowhere," which stars Emayatzy Corinealdi, Omari Hardwick, and David Oyelowo, won Best Director Award for U.S. Dramatic Film at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival. However, after that nothing else was heard about the film. That was, until BET announced that they will premiere the film on Wednesday, July 23 at 9/8c.
The film follows a young African American woman's journey as she goes through ups and downs in life after her husband is incarcerated, telling the story of the struggle to keep her marriage and identity issues she is faced with in life. It had a limited release in 2012 but did not really generate a lot of buzz but this is a great opportunity for this movie to connect with more black women who maybe would not have been able to see the movie otherwise. So much kudos to BET. I can't wait to see the movie! If you are unfamiliar, check out the trailer.
